I’ve been looking for an opportunity to toy with posting video file here on No Man’s Blog and the new Adidas short film seems to be a great one to start with.
Following BMW, Nissan (to name but a few) and other brands who tapped on the branded content trend, now adidas creates a film series celebrating color, customization and personal expression. Each director was given a blank canvas to create a short film based on their emotional and creative response to a given color – Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, Black or White.
This film ‘Yellow’ by Neill Blomkamp illustrates what happens when a thinking machine integrates with society. Think matrix meets I-robot meets the ‘Mossad‘…
I promise to investigate the Mossad (or Kabala???) motifs and update. Enjoy.
The BMW had the car as the star. Is knowing that Addidas is behind it makes it enough to advertise/promote a product/brand?
absolutely. due to various reasons that contributed to the decline of mass communications, there is a positive shift towards branded content and entertainment rather than pure advertising message. smart brands now give you a piece of content/entertainment in order for you to spend time with them. what would you prefer your favourite brands will give you? Rather than bombarding consumers with tired and formulaic TV or billboard ads, actively engaging consumers with fun and dynamic content is much more likely to make people affable towards your brand.
