Hi Asi

It's so true - time is accelerated, full, precious. what i find wierd is I have two clocks, one which says 'where did this year go?', another which says 'I can barely remember when it was cold outside' (four weeks ago?)

I tend to find I have long years and short years (especially on the second clock) based on how much news stuff I do. Short years are ones where most of my experiences were quite similar to ones I'd had before. One view would be if you've seen it before you dont put down such a deep memory trace?

Anyone who has done something like starting college, moving to another country, starting a business etc. will remember what a long year that was. Its not quite enjoyment but it is a quality of something like aliveness.

It still fits dinos point that time flies by faster perceptually as you get older. But its partly I think how much new stuff you have to pad out your memories being the 'seconds' of remembered time?

Another point is mortality. Once you shift from an eternal present assumption to the sands of time slipping through your fingers then 'wow that year just flew by' takes on a different meaning?

happy monday

Yo, welcome to my world, mate. I'm feeling this since I was 16 (dead serious, no joke). You should just feel happy that it started now for you. Solution: none whatsoever. Just keep it coming...

As daily living becomes more frantic and time more precious, Lovemarks will be the brands that understand how to create experiences that give us back time.

that's Kevin "Lovemarks" Roberts posting on his blog today about Eurostar. He's on the same page as you Asi!

i have the same thing, every so often something taps me on the shoulder and reminds me that i am 20 odd years from stuff that seemed to happen yesterday. like the moment i am in has broken a little and the time is speeding up. how did i suddenly get so far?

I'm totally with you. as you see i didn't mention anything about $$$. It's just TIME that bloody scares these day...

Dino,
I've heard these little monkeys conspire to press the fast-forward button on our lives and there's nothing we can do about it...

Good question, Asi, I just wish I had the time to reply. (Sorry).

There was a rather depressing study I read a few years back that proved that as we get older, our perception of time actually changes so that time really does feel like it is going much faster.

It isn't a myth, and it should at least offer you some comfort to know that your perception isn't caused by just wanting to do too much (though I'm sure it only adds to the stress!).

Now if you really want to see time go at warp speed, wait until you have kids. Or better yet, two at once! I feel like the last three years lasted just a few months, nuts.

Hey Asi

Rest assured that you have at least one additional member to your time scarcity crew - it's a bloody nightmare!

Is time the ultimate luxury now I wonder? Personally, I'd easily take an extra day of leisure a week over anything material.

Anyway, better dash! ;)
