where is the british equivalent of pew?

Recently Russell rightly asked where is the British equivalent to the daily show?

Today I’m asking – where is the British equivalent of Pew Internet and American life project?

Pew is an incredible source of information for me. they produce reports that explore the impact of the Internet on every aspect of American’s lives – families, communities, work and home, daily life, education, health care, and civic and political life.

The basis of the reports are nationwide random digit dial telephone surveys as well as online surveys. This data collection is supplemented with research from government agencies, academia, and other expert venues; observations of what people do and how they behave when they are online; in-depth interviews with Internet users and Internet experts alike; and other efforts that try to examine individual and group behavior.

Absolutely gold data to whoever is interested in the ways people interact with the web and how this platform affects our lives.

The Project releases 15-20 pieces of research a year, varying in size, scope, and ambition! And it’s open and free for all.

check out this, this and this. wouldn’t it be great if we had the same data on the UK?
