ever had an item of clothing (like shoes or jeans etc) that you loved sooo much and been ridiculesly attached to, that when they started to get worn out you deeply regretted that you didn’t buy at least 5 pairs of them so you can have them for life? (and then wore them ’til they were completely disfigured…)

thats what happen to me with these beautiful Penguin shoes I had to throw away recently. I searched all over the place for the same trainers but none. all gone. only few small sizes left. so I emailed Penguin and asked them about the shoes, here’s what they wrote in reply:
Hi Asi,
Unfortunately the shoes are no longer in production. I
would have no idea whether another independent
retailer still has a pair left in your size. In two
months we will be receiving new shoes, no guarantee
they will make your shoes again, but there’s a chance
at least something similar may be available! Our
apologies!
In a perfect world, things would work like Threadless where consumers are able to push an item (T-shirt) for reprint/reproduction. Alternatively, there should be a web destination where all the nice stuff from previous years will be available for purchase. EVERYTHING.
Is there an organised long-tail-economy future for fashion? (sorry, read only half the book ![]()

Now there’s a business idea. Shoes/trainers seems to be a common theme with me too
