New Michel Gondry film is coming out soon and I just can’t wait to see it.
Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend’s (Mos Def) store. In order to keep the store’s one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a crappy, home-made version of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Back to the Future, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop….
Take a look at the fabulous microsite with all youtube trailers etc, it’s both taking the piss and celebrating the age of mass creativity, user generated and the remix culture and naturally they invite you to swede your own film. Or as Nicky said:
“They make a website about a movie about people making homemade movies about hollywood movies and they want you to make homemade versions of websites for them to put on their website, of the movie, of the homemade movies, of the movies”. Genius.
