In praise of KideoPlayer
by asi

who said that websites can’t make you cry?
KideoPlayer, the new digitoy from Tom of Poke NY just made both my digital strategist self and my daddy self cry with delight. It’s a super-easy, interactive, fun and safe way for parents and babies/toddlers to “channel surf” YouTube together and find fantastic content. For now, it’s manually sourced by Tom who is sourcing, identifying and curating the safest, most educational (and most FUN) YouTube videos he can find (read Tom’s inspiring words on the reasons that brought him to make kideoplayer)
KideoPlayer ticks every box in my ‘how-to-do-great-digital’ list: Don’t be the marketing web, be the web that people use, think social and generous and how you can make people’s lives more interesting and useful and fun. Oh yeah, and keep it simple. Like, real simple. (Unsurprisingly, it’s not a branded project, it’s a personal pet project and a social webgift from a father and digital superstar, and agency that likes doing great stuff)
Damnit, I wish I’d thought about this one.
And my daddy self loves it even more for giving me such lovely tool to find and enjoy great content with Thalia (I think she starting to get the spacebar slap)
Cheers Tom, it’s really really great. I’m waiting for you to facilitate contributions from users and fans
