I guess it’s some primal evolutionary as well as cultural disposition – it happens to me all the time that I attribute some living or emotional characteristic to inanimate objects. And it’s quite amazing how much stuff you can project on a bloody screw head!

It is really engaging and fun to play with.

On the microsite, they have a segment called Sprintcuts which is a collection of videos explaining a new faster way of doing something, like a pouring ketchup quicker which is supposed to save 2 weeks over a lifetime, parking, speed tying your shoes (that will save you 4 days!) and other mundane activities.

And they also have an interactive time calculator that calculates how much time you spend on a particular activity in a lifetime:

i really liked the pace of it all – either 20 or 3 min of simply interesting stuff. no discussion, no boring questions, moving on to the next gem.

I truly hope that interesting 2008 will maintain it’s ‘community/DIY/non-commercial’ spirit.

Derek is five years old and he weighs about a ton. He lives in a field (can’t tell you where, it’s the biggest secret) , along with a couple of his heifers. When it comes to bulls he’s pretty much the daddy. Nobody messes with Derek.

His hobbies include bellowing and wandering around.

Here’s what his farmer has to say about Derek:

“Derek doesn’t say much, but I always know what he’s thinking.
He’s mostly got grass and heifers on the brain.”

If you are able to guess where derek will be everyday at 3pm you might get yourself a pair of the hottest tickets to this summer’s glastonbury. now seriously this is one of the most brilliant projects i’ve been involved with here at poke and it has never been done before. we actually tagged derek with a gps device and a complex system of grids live cams and satellites and whatnot to make this project live and real.

play with it – i particularly like the very short videos of derek with his farmer, his vet and an animal psychologist are painfully funny.

I just came back from the very first pub evening with Faris. Too bad I had to leave early but when I left it looked like it really kicked off and quite a few people turned in. I only had the chance to meet Anthony, the lovely Ed and some really nice Naked people.

Scootring on my way back home, I had an idea which I think not only will help Faris with the heavy commitment of being the host of pub evenings [unless you really want to mate - it's your baby!] but will make things more dynamic and fun.

How about a different host in a different place every other week or so? Every now and then, pub evenings will be hosted by someone else in a pub of his/her choice – your local or just a cool pub you really like. This way we’ll be moving east-west-north-south leaving a trail of tipsy love all around town.

Tagging is this meme/viral that going on for few weeks now where bloggers share 4 interesting personal stuff and then pass it on to 5 other bloggers. Cute in a geeky kind of way….

So…here’s my riff:

1. I was sleepwalking :  As a child, between 5-11 years of age I used to drive my parents crazy with my night roaming…They used to find me in bizarre places in and outside the house doing weired stuff like stuffing pillows into sandwich bags. No one knew what’s the deal and it just stopped later.

2. I spent 3 weeks in North Carolina training with the Delta Force . I’m not proud of my military experience (it’s compulsory in Israel) and today I’d rather go to jail than put on a uniform or hold a rifle in my hands, but back than when I was sent to spend 3 weeks with the real Chuck Norrises, jumping from helicopters into top floors windows and buses running in 50mph and other "save the world" crazy stunts, it was actually quite fun.

3. I was playing the flute for 7 years. From 4th grade to 11th, I was playing the flute in my home town’s music conservatorium, including the city youth orchestra.

4. I did the London triathalon(1.5K swim/40K cycle/10K run).  A year and a half ago. Was great, but I think I enjoyed the training regime and self-discipline experience [which I so lack in my life] more then the actual event. I actually had to take 10 weeks swimming course as I never swum front crawl. It’s really experiential to acquire new physical skill at 31.  I look forward for the next one in the summer.

Iain, because what happened with my recent move to poke made me abandon my radical rationalism for a week and enjoy contemplating good karmas and stuff…’ ‘everything happen for a reason’ – IN,  ‘pure coincidence’ – OUT. Spirituality is the new black!

Faris, for his fantastic gig over at Jenkins ‘ blog with "transmedia planning" -  his excellent contribution to the blogosphere. I see a book 3-5 years from now.
